Casa Calvet, Batlló and Milà

Before reissuing Gaudí’s furniture, BD, together with the architect David Ferrer, faithfully reproduced some of the metalwork pieces designed by Gaudí between 1902 and 1910 for Casa Calvet and Batlló. Also those of Casa Milà, popularly known as La Pedrera.
All are engraved with Gaudí’s signature and have been in production since 1978.

Composition

This collection consists of nine pieces including a variety of knobs, ‘butterfly’ knobs, door handles and peep-hole. The knobs include: Milá Nº1, Batlló Nº2, Milá Nº3, and Milá Nº4. The Batlló butterfly selection includes the Batlló butterfly, Batlló butterfly Expo, or the Batlló butterfly door knob. The Calvet door handle and peep-hole are available in singular format for exposition purposes, and are also available as a set of two. All items are made of solid cast brass.

BD  – Jaime Hayon

Although born and trained in Madrid, he was forged as a designer with Fabrica, the breeding ground of creativity run by Benetton near the Italian city of Treviso, where he arrived in 1997, when he had barely turned 24, to work under Oliviero Toscani, who would soon put him in charge of the design department. It was at Fabrica that he first worked with BD on the Mail Me project.

BD Art Editions – Antoní Gaudí

A company that has always attributed such great importance to the author of the designs could never forget the great figures in history. That is why the BD catalogue of contemporary creations has always included those by admired classical masters.

BD Art Editions – Salvador Dalí

A sheep with a drawer in its stomach, a chair that wears heels, these truly surreal works of art could only come from the mind of Salvador Dalí.
