Taken from ‘Femme à tête de roses‘ (1935) (Woman with a head of roses). It was sufficient for this sculpture to be made as a three dimensional piece, remaining faithful to every detail in Dalí’s painting.

Dalí affirmed: “A chair can be used even to sit on, but only on one condition: That we sit uncomfortably.” We can sit on the Leda, but due to the fact that it only has three legs and that the chair is heavy, it being made of solid brass, is more a work of art than a functional piece of furniture.

Limited Edition
In 2009 we commemorated the 20th Anniversary of the death of Salvador Dalí and BD wished to add its special homage by producing a special limited edition of his fantastic furniture collection. This lamp is also available in the Black Label edition.
Finishes
Structure of brass by lost-wax casting, made in various parts; which are welded together, forming the structure. The parts have a polished, glossy surface, and include a clear, 25-micron varnish based on high-strength epoxy resins, air dried.

Dalu00ed affirmed: u201cA chair can be used even to sit on, but only on one condition: That we sit uncomfortably.u201d We can sit on the Leda, but due to the fact that it only has three legs and that the chair is heavy, it being made of solid brass, is more a work of art than a functional piece of furniture.

Structure of brass by lost-wax casting, made in various parts; which are welded together, forming the structure. The parts have a polished, glossy surface, and include a clear, 25-micron varnish based on high-strength epoxy resins, air dried.

BD – Jaime Hayon
Although born and trained in Madrid, he was forged as a designer with Fabrica, the breeding ground of creativity run by Benetton near the Italian city of Treviso, where he arrived in 1997, when he had barely turned 24, to work under Oliviero Toscani, who would soon put him in charge of the design department. It was at Fabrica that he first worked with BD on the Mail Me project.
